The Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild was established in 1983 to provide contact and support for those interested in the book arts, and there are branches across Canada. CBBAG Calgary has members from the southern part of the province, and our meetings have been held in various locations in Calgary.
Membership in CBBAG (pronounced “cabbage”) is open to all those who share book-related interests and support these goals:
• to create a spirit of community among hand book workers and with the book community;
• to promote greater public awareness of the book arts;
• and to increase educational opportunities and foster excellence through exhibitions, workshops, and publications.
Membership is drawn from all branches of the book arts: bookbinders, fine printers, papermakers, paper decorators, calligraphers, and book artists, as well as collectors, book dealers, librarians, and those who love books.
CBBAG is a volunteer-run organization. If you are interested in becoming involved as a volunteer to assist with any of the CBBAG programmes or services, or have any questions, please let us know.
